Research & Inspiration
I Just have to Know More!
After getting the opportunity to visit the Metropolitan Winds in person, I was so inspired by the musical talent and whimsicalness that manifested from the various instruments and muscians. I was so shaken by their craft, that I was left wondering "why aren't they marketed more?" so I began to do a deep-dive and look into their branding and website. After viewing it, I noticed an opportunity and was inspired to elevate the Metropolitan Wind's brand through a short personal branding project.

The music scene is something that is ever changing, with the branding for bands and musicians aligning often with the current times and their genre of music. Taking this into account, I studied the Logo of the Metropolitan Winds and took notes over their current branding, while noting the experience I had seeing them and how I could reflect this in the new branding.
I focused on a typographic focus for an updated logo, playing and exploring curving and playful forms to tie back in the name of Metropolitan "winds".

Final Logo
I found the ideation phase to be short, as I ended up deciding on a logo rather quickly. I cleaned it up and instead of having "metropolitan" and "winds" fully overlapping, I instead allowed the first letters of each word to be those small moments of "unique", allowing the logo to be simple yet have some personality. I additionally kept the same colors as the previous logo, but lowered the saturation to create easier accessibility usage for all of the brand colors.

Reflection
Working in such a large team with other UX designers was incredibly beneficial; it not only streamlined our process but also allowed me to share my own experiences, especially concerning UI design. I specifically focused on ensuring WCAG standards were met and checking for clear color contrast. Realistically, with more time and a larger team, we could have integrated user testing directly into the design phase. Moving forward, I plan to outline a more in-depth milestone and calendar that specifically accounts for the opportunity to work with potential users.
Reflection
After taking my personal experience with the Metropolitan Winds and applying it to create a potential branding direction, I chose to making the branding feel modern, sophisticated, yet whimsical. The Metropolitan Winds is a wonderful experience so it only makes sense to show what someone could expect through a fresh new take!
